Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our farm and services? Check for answers here!

What is a farm animal sanctuary?
Animal sanctuaries are organizations where animals are cared for and protected for the rest of their natural lives. Farm sanctuaries care for traditionally farmed animals such as cows, horses, sheep, etc. Animals sanctuaries often provide education and advocacy work for the wellbeing of animals and strengthen human-animal relations. We aim to place animals first over human benefit and do not use our animals for consumption.

What can I expect at the Little Blue Coop?
Our mini farm is currently home to two pigs, six rabbits, six chickens, and two sheep. We also have a pond with many wild frogs and fish! Visitors will have the opportunity to pet, feed, and play with all animals.
For their safety and wellbeing, we do not force our animals to interact with visitors. However, many of our animals are very friendly and enjoy being around humans. The owner will be available to answer any questions or assist in handling animals as needed.
We ask that you do not bring outside food to feed the animals and wear clothing and shoes that you are comfortable with getting dirty. Strollers are not allowed on our premises due to biosafety risks. If you have visited any other farms or livestock in the past month, please let us know before visiting.
We require hands to be washed before and after interacting with the animals to protect yourself and the animals. Hand sanitizer is also provided.
*Please note there are NO public bathrooms on site.*
Why do I need to sign a waiver?
At the Little Blue Coop, we ask that you sign a waiver before interacting with our animals. While many of our animals have a docile, friendly nature, animals can still be unpredictable. It is possible that an animal could bite, scratch, jump, push, knock over, or otherwise injure a visitor. While we take measures to limit contamination, transmission of zoonotic diseases or bacteria is possible. While we have not had any of these issues occur in the past, it is our duty to inform you of the risks associated with visiting our farm to protect you, us, and the animals alike.
Please feel free to ask us any questions about prevention measures we utilize at the Little Blue Coop!

Can I buy eggs/manure/plants/etc.?
Yes! Feel free to check out our farm stand when visiting our farm. We sell excess chicken eggs, seedlings, fruits and veggies from our gardens, rabbit and chicken manure, and excess wool after shearing sheep. We accept cash or e-transfer payments. All proceeds are used to better the lives of our animals!
Who can visit the Little Blue Coop?
We welcome visitors of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, religions, cultures, ethnicities, and abilities. To maintain our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we will not tolerate any discrimination, harassment, bullying or intimidation on our premises. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.
While we welcome people of all abilities to our farm, visitors living with mobility issues or physical disabilities may be limited to certain areas of our farm due to uneven grounds, small enclosures, etc. We are happy to bring willing animals to areas of the farm that are accessible to you if needed. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about the accessibility of our mini farm.
